CLIENT EXPERIENCE GUIDE

-Newborn Sessions-

WHAT TO EXPECT

LOCATION:

The session will take place at my home studio, which is located at:

56 Gettysburg Way in Lincoln Park, NJ.

When you get there, park in the parking spot labeled "56."

STYLING & PROPS:

I provide a curated selection of wraps, blankets, and props in your chosen color scheme. If there’s a special heirloom (like a quilt or teddy) you’d like included, just let me know — it makes your photos even more personal. My style is timeless so I tend to avoid the trendy backgrounds and props and create images that are more natural. If you haven't done so already, check out my website to see some of my work.

DURING THE SESSION

Much of our time together will be spent settling the baby and getting him/her into poses. Safety is my number one priority so if the baby expresses discomfort in any pose, we will move on to something else. I will never force a baby into a pose and therefore I cannot guarantee any poses. Your baby's natural sleeping poses are beautiful and I want to capture that!

You will be very involved in the shoot as I use the parent(s) as spotters. I will be moving around a lot (adjusting the lights, getting the shot, etc. ) so you will be asked to sit with the baby at all times to ensure their safety. We will do a number of different poses with different colored backgrounds and props so you have a lot of variety in your gallery!

Sessions typically run 1.5–3 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding, calming, and capturing those tiny details. I’ll guide you through safe ways to include family and sibling photos. I typically start with family photos first. Toddlers can get antsy after they are done with their part. In the past, clients have had another family member take the older sibling home or out for a little bit to a nearby park or to get something to eat. I can give you recommendations for places nearby.

PREPARE

If you want those sleepy baby photos then it will be important to take a few considerations the day of the shoot. If possible, schedule the shoot for a time when you know the baby sleeps (usually right after a feeding).

THINGS TO BRING:

  • feeding supplies
  • diapers & wipes
  • hair brush
  • pacifier
  • burp cloth
  • snacks & drinks for the adults and other family members participating in the session.

I love to capture those tiny hands and feet so trim fingernails and toenails before the shoot if they are ready to be trimmed.

AFTER THE SESSION

TURN-AROUND TIME:

You can expect your proofs (lightly edited images) to be sent to you in an online gallery via email about 1 week after your session! From there, you'll select your favorites from the proofs - giving you full control over which images you want retouched and finalized. Finally, after about 2 weeks, your gallery will be ready! You’ll be able to download your high-resolution images straight from the online link. Then the best part begins - sharing your beautiful images with friends and family!

PRINTS & WALL ART:

If you wish to purchase professional quality prints, wall art, or albums you will be given the opportunity to do when your final gallery is delivered. I work with an amazing lab that produces stunning products. If you need any help during this process, do not hesitate to reach out! I love creating art work for my clients!
